Indeed, those who have said, 'Our Lord is Allah' and then remained steadfast, the angels will descend upon them, [saying], 'Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.'

بشرت الرجل أبشره، بالضم، بشرا وبشورا من البشرى

I informed the man, I inform him, with the ضمة, with bushara and bushura from al-bushra.

وهو حسن البشر، بالكسر، أي طلق الوجه.

And he is of good 'bashar', with the kasra, meaning cheerful-faced.

ومن آياته أن يرسل الرياح مبشرات

And among His signs is that He sends the winds as bringers of good news.

فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَى

Then the angels called him while he was standing in the temple praying, 'Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John.'

قال: وأصل هذا كله أن بشرة الإنسان تنبسط عند السرور

He said: And the origin of all this is that a person's skin expands with joy.

ابن الأعرابي: يقال بشرته وبشرته وأبشرته وبشرت بكذا وكذا وبشرت وأبشرت إذا فرحت به.

Ibn al-A'rabi said: It is said 'bashartuhu' and 'bashartuhu' and 'abshartuhu' and 'bashartu' and 'abshartu' with such and such when you become happy with it.

وبشرت الناقة باللقاح، وهو حين يعلم ذلك عند أول ما تلقح.

And the she-camel is 'basharat' with conception, which is when that is known at the first sign of conception.

فلما عرس، حتى هجته ... بالتباشير من الصبح الأول

So when he camped, until it roused him ... with the early signs of the first dawn.

وتباشير كل شيء: أوله

And the 'tabashir' of everything: its beginning.

ورأت بأن الشيب ... جانبه البشاشة والبشاره

And she saw that gray hair ... was beside her cheerfulness and pleasantness.

وما أحسن بشرتها.

And how beautiful is its surface.

فباشروا روح اليقين

So engage directly with the spirit of certainty.

ولا تباشروهن وأنتم عاكفون في المساجد

And do not have sexual relations with them as long as you are in devotion in the mosques.
