السكة الطريقة المصطفة من النخل، والمأبورة: الملقحة
The سكة is the arranged row of palm trees, and the مأبورة: the pollinated one.
من باع نخلا قد أبرت فثمرتها للبائع إلا أن يشترط المبتاع.
Whoever sells palm trees that have been pollinated, their fruit belongs to the seller, unless the buyer stipulates otherwise.
وذلك أنها لا تؤبر إلا بعد ظهور ثمرتها وانشقاق طلعها وكوافرها من غضيضها
And that is because they are not pollinated except after their fruit appears and their spathes split and their fronds emerge from their freshness.
وتأبير النخل: تلقيحه
And تأبير of palm trees: their pollination.
ويقال: تأبر الفسيل إذا قبل الإبار؛ وقال الراجز: تأبري يا خيرة الفسيل، ... إذ ضن أهل النخل بالفحول
And it is said: the offshoot تأبر if it accepts the إبار; and the poet said: تأبري, O best of offshoots, ... when the palm owners were stingy with the male trees.
يشترط صاحب الأرض على المساقي كذا وكذا، وإبار النخل.
The landowner stipulates to the waterer such and such, and the إبار of the palm trees.
يقال نخل قد أبرت، ووبرت وأبرت ثلاث لغات، فمن قال أبرت، فهي مؤبرة، ومن قال وبرت، فهي موبورة، ومن قال أبرت، فهي مأبورة أي ملقحة
It is said: palm trees have been أبرت, ووبرت, and أبرت, three languages. Whoever says أبرت, it is مؤبرة; whoever says وبرت, it is موبورة; and whoever says أبرت, it is مأبورة, meaning pollinated.
ويقال لكل مصلح صنعة: هو آبرها، وإنما قيل للملقح آبر لأنه مصلح له
And every craftsman who repairs a craft is called its آبرها, and the pollinator is called آبر because he is its repairer.
فإن أنت لم ترضي بسعيي فاتركي ... لي البيت آبره، وكوني مكانيا
If you are not pleased with my efforts, then leave ... my house for me to repair, and be in your place.
أبر إذا آذى وأبر إذا اغتاب وأبر إذا لقح النخل وأبر أصلح

ومثل المؤمن مثل الشاة المأبورة أي التي أكلت الإبرة في علفها فنشبت في جوفها، فهي لا تأكل شيئا، وإن أكلت لم ينجع فيها.
And the believer is like the مأبورة sheep, meaning one that ate the إبرة in its fodder and it got stuck in its belly, so it does not eat anything, and if it eats, it does not benefit from it.
والذي فلق الحبة وبرأ النسمة لتخضبن هذه من هذه، وأشار إلى لحيته ورأسه، فقال الناس: لو عرفناه أبرنا عترته أي أهلكناهم
And He who split the grain and created the soul, this shall be dyed from this, and he pointed to his beard and head, and the people said: If we had known him, we would have destroyed his offspring, meaning we would have annihilated them.
وهو من أبرت الكلب إذا أطعمته الإبرة في الخبز.
And it is from أبرت the dog when you feed it the إبرة in bread.
ويقال للسان: مئبر ومذرب ومفصل ومقول.
And the tongue is called مئبر, مذرب, مفصل, and مقول.
وإبرة العقرب: التي تلدغ بها، وفي المحكم: طرف ذنبها.
And the إبرة of the scorpion: that with which it stings, and in the المحكم: the tip of its tail.
وأبرته تأبره وتأبره أبرا: لسعته أي ضربته بإبرتها.
And it (the scorpion) أبرته it, and it أبرته it, an أبر: it stung it, meaning it struck it with its إبرة.
فقال: ما لي صفراء ولا بيضاء، ولست بمأبور في ديني فيوري بها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، عني، إني لأول من أسلم
So he said: I have no yellow (gold) nor white (silver), and I am not مأبور in my religion, so that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would use it against me, meaning, I am the first to embrace Islam.
المأبور: من أبرته العقرب أي لسعته بإبرتها، يعني لست غير الصحيح الدين ولا المتهم في الإسلام فيتألفني عليه بتزويجها إياي
The مأبور: one whom the scorpion has أبرته, meaning stung him with its إبرة, meaning you are not unsound in religion nor suspected in Islam, so that he would win me over by marrying her to me.
