Ibn Jinni said: They did not derive a verb from it, and the passive participle of an adjective comes from the verb, like 'maḍrūb' from 'ḍaraba' and 'maqtūl' from 'qatala'.
التهذيب: فأدت الصيد أفأده فأدا إذا أصبت فؤاده.
