وفي الحديث: أن رجلا كان يبايع وفي عقدته ضعف أي في رأيه ونظره في مصالح نفسه
And in the hadith: A man used to trade, and in his 'uqdatuhu' there was weakness, meaning in his opinion and his foresight regarding his own interests.

And in the hadith of Ibn Amr: Did I not know there were many wild animals here? It was said: Yes, but they have been 'uqidat' (treated/tamed) so they mix with the livestock and do not harm them.
يعني عقدت ومنعت أن تضر البهائم
Meaning they were 'uqidat' and prevented from harming the livestock.
وفي حديث أبي موسى: أنه كسا في كفارة اليمين ثوبين ظهرانيا ومعقدا
And in the hadith of Abu Musa: He wore for the expiation of an oath two garments, a plain one and a 'mu'aqqad'.
