يقال: تصديت له أي أقبلت عليه؛

والأصل فيه أيضا من الصدد وهو ما استقبلك وصار قبالتك.

فأنت له تصدى ؛ أي أنت تقبل عليه، جعله من الصدد وهو القبالة.

And it is said: This house is on the sadad of that one, meaning opposite it.

As if I, from my passion for Zaynab, am wandering, ... stealing a drink from the pools of Sadda'.

ويرى دون برد الماء هولا وذادة، ... إذا شد صاحوا قبل أن يتحببا

And he sees before the coolness of the water, terror and repulsion, ... when he strains, they shout before he can embrace it.
