Al-Kumait said, satirizing some rulers: 'A rule of 'salghad' I thought it was, as if it were... mixed with foolishness, a dullard, and in Al-Sihah it is 'as-salghad';
يقول: كأنه من حمقه وما يتناوله من الخمر تيس مجنون.
He means: as if from his foolishness and what he consumes of wine, he is like a mad goat.
ابن الأعرابي: السلغد الأكول الشروب الأحمق من الرجال.
Ibn Al-A'rabi said: 'As-salghad' is the gluttonous, the drinker, the foolish among men.
