And Al-Mazid: the increase. And you say: 'Do that as an addition,' and the common people say: 'Za'idah.'
وفي حديث القيامة: عشر أمثالها وأزيد
And in the Hadith of the Resurrection: 'Ten times its like, and more.'
وتزيد في كلامه وفعله وتزايد: تكلف الزيادة فيه.
And he exaggerated in his speech and action, and he increased: he burdened it with excess.
والتزيد في الحديث: الكذب.
And exaggeration in speech: is lying.
وتزيدت الإبل في سيرها: تكلفت فوق طوقها.
And the camels exerted themselves in their journey: they burdened themselves beyond their capacity.
وإنها لكثيرة الزيايد أي كثيرة الزيادات
And indeed, it has many Zayayid, meaning many increases.
والمزادة: الراوية، قال أبو عبيد: لا تكون إلا من جلدين تفأم بجلد ثالث بينهما لتتسع
And Al-Mazadah: the waterskin. Abu Ubayd said: It is only made from two skins joined with a third skin between them to make it wider.
والمزادة التي يحمل فيها الماء وهي ما فئم بجلد ثالث بين الجلدين ليتسع
And Al-Mazadah is that in which water is carried, and it is what is joined with a third skin between the two skins to make it wider.
وقالوا: البعير يحمل الزاد والمزاد أي الطعام والشراب.
And they said: The camel carries the provisions and the Mazad, meaning food and drink.
والمزادة: بمنزلة راوية لا عزلاء لها.
And Al-Mazadah: is like a waterskin that has no outlet pipe.
والمزادة مفعلة من الزيادة، والجمع المزايد
And Al-Mazadah is a measure from 'increase', and the plural is Al-Mazayid.
ويقال للأسد إنه ذو زوائد لتزيده في هديره وزئيره وصوته
And the lion is described as having Zawa'id (extra parts) to increase its roaring, growling, and sound.
وزائدة الكبد هنة متعلقة منها لأنها تزيد على سطحها
And the Zaidah of the liver is a thing attached to it because it increases its surface.

وكان سعيد بن عثمان يلقب بالزوائدي لأنه كان له ثلاث بيضات، زعموا.
And Sa'id bin Uthman was nicknamed Al-Zuwaydi because he had three eggs, they claimed.
وحروف الزوائد عشرة وهي: الهمزة والألف والياء والواو والميم والنون والسين والياء والتاء واللام والهاء

ولا دعيت: يزيد أي لا دعيت الفاضل، المعنى هذا يزيد وليس يتمدح بأن اسمه يزيد لأن يزيد ليس موضوعا بعد النقل له عن الفعلية إلا للعلمية.
And I was not called: Yazid, meaning I was not called the excellent one. The meaning is that this is Yazid, and he is not praised for his name being Yazid because Yazid is not established after being transferred from the verb except as a proper noun.
وزيدل: اسم كزيد، اللام فيه زائدة كزيادتها في عبدل للفعلية
And Zaydal: is a name like Zayd, the Lam in it is an addition, like its addition in 'Abdall' for the verb.

And Al-Ziyadah: is a horse belonging to Abu Tha'laba.

And Tazid: is the father of a tribe, and he is Tazid bin Hulwan bin Imran bin Al-Haff bin Quda'ah.
