ويقال للشيء الذي لا فرجة فيه: فرسخ، كأنه على السلب
And it is said of something that has no gap in it: farsakh, as if it is in the negative.
وانتظرتك فرسخا من الليل أو من النهار أي طويلا، وكأن الفرسخ أخذ من هذا
And I waited for you for a farsakh of the night or the day, meaning a long time, and it is as if the farsakh is derived from this.

والفرسخ انكسار البرد
And the farsakh is the breaking of the cold.
أعصبت السماء أياما بعين ما فيها فرسخ
The sky rained continuously for days without any farsakh in it.
ما فيها فرسخ يقول: ليس فيها فرجة ولا إقلاع
There is no farsakh in it, meaning: there is no gap or cessation in it.
وإذا احتبس المطر اشتد البرد فإذا مطر الناس كان للبرد بعد ذلك فرسخ أي سكون، من قولك فرسخ عني المرض، وافرنسخ أي تباعد
And when the rain stopped, the cold intensified, and when the people experienced rain, there was after that a farsakh for the cold, meaning stillness, from your saying 'the illness receded from me', and 'ifransakha' meaning it moved away.
