والطَّخُوخُ: الشَّرِسُ فِي الخُلُقِ وَسُوءُ العِشْرَةِ وَالمُعَامَلَةِ؛ طَخْطَخَ طَخْطَخَةً: شَرِسٌ فِي مُعَامَلَتِهِ.

وَذَلِكَ إِذَا كَانَ غَيْمٌ يَسْتُرُ ضَوْءَ النُّجُومِ، وَذَلِكَ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ قَمَرٌ، وَلَا أَدْرِي مَا طَخْطَخَهُ؛ وَلَيْلٌ طَخَاطِخٌ وَقَدْ طَخْطَخَهُ السَّحَابُ.
And that is when there are clouds that obscure the light of the stars, and that is when there is no moon, and I do not know what 'takhtakhahu' means; and it is a dark night, and the clouds have obscured it.
وَيُقَالُ لِلرَّجُلِ الضَّعِيفِ النَّظَرِ: مُتَطَخْطِخٌ، والجَمْعُ مُتَطَخْطِخُونَ.
And for a man with weak eyesight, it is said: 'mutatakhthikh', and the plural is 'mutatakhthikhun'.
وَالمُطَخْطِخُ الضَّعِيفُ البَصَرِ.
And 'al-mutakhtikh' is the one with weak eyesight.
وَقَدْ طَخْطَخَ اللَّيْلُ بَصَرَهُ إِذَا حَجَبَتْهُ الظُّلْمَةُ عَنِ انْفِسَاحِ النَّظَرِ.
And the night has 'takhtakha' his sight if darkness prevented him from having a wide view.
والطَّخْطَخَةُ: حِكَايَةُ بَعْضِ الضَّحِكِ.
