And Sa'idah bin Ju'ayyah said: They are all lofty when they are recognized, ... to be avoided as the scabby lamb is avoided

And badhak as badhikh;
قَالَ طَرْفَةُ: أَنْتَ ابْنُ هِنْدٍ فَقُلْ لِي: مَنْ أَبُوكَ إِذَا؟ ... لَا يَصْلُحُ المُلْكُ إِلَّا كُلَّ بَذَاخٍ
Tarafah said: You are the son of Hind, so tell me: who is your father if? ... Kingship is not suitable except for every lofty one
وَيُرْوَى: لَا يَصْلُحُ المُلْكُ أَيٌّ لِلْمُلْكِ.
And it is narrated: Kingship is not suitable, meaning for kingship.
وَبَاذِخَتِهُ: فَاخَرَهُ، وَالجَمْعُ البَوَاذِخُ وَالبَاذِخَاتُ.
And badhikhatuhu: he boasted to him, and the جمع is al-bawadhikh and al-badhikhat.
وَفِي الكَلَامِ هُوَ بَذَاخٌ، وَفِي الشِّعْرِ هُوَ بَاذِخٌ؛
And in speech it is badhak, and in poetry it is badhikh;
وَأَنْشَدَ: أَشَمُّ بَذَاخٌ نَمَتْنِي البَذَخُ
And he recited: A lofty, arrogant one, the pride has nurtured me
وَفُلَانٌ يَتَبَذَّخُ أَيٌّ يَتَعَظَّمُ وَيَتَكَبَّرُ.
And so-and-so yattabadhkha, meaning he acts haughty and arrogant.
وَفِي حَدِيثِ الخَيْلِ: وَالَّذِي يَتَّخِذُهَا أَشَرًا وَبَطَرًا وَبَذَخًا؛
And in the hadith of horses: and he who takes them for pride, insolence, and arrogance;
البَذَخُ، بِالتَّحْرِيكِ: الفَخْرُ وَالتَّطَاوُلُ.

And from it is the saying of Ali, may God be pleased with him: And the camels carried the arrogance on their shoulders.
وَالبَاذِخُ وَالشَّامِخُ: الجَبَلُ الطَّوِيلُ، صِفَةٌ غَالِبَةٌ، وَالجَمْعُ البَوَاذِخُ.

وَقَدْ بَذَخَ بُذُوخاً؛
And he was lofty with budhukhan;
وَبَذَخَ البَعِيرُ يَبْذَخُ بَذَخَاناً، فَهُوَ بَاذِخٌ وَبَذَاخٌ: اشْتَدَّ هَدَرُهُ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ فَوْقَهُ شَيْءٌ، وَإِنَّهُ لَبَذَاخٌ.
And the camel badakha yabdhakhu badhakhan, so it is badhikh and badhak: its bellowing intensified so there was nothing above it, and indeed it is badhak.
وَتَقُولُ إِذَا زَجَرْتَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ أَوْ حَكَيْتَهُ: بَذَخْ بَذَخْ.
And you say when you deter it from that or narrate it: Badakh badakh.
وَالبِيذَخُ: مَعْرُوفَةٌ بِهَذَا الاسْمِ.
And al-bidhakh: is known by this name.
وَامْرَأَةٌ بِيذَخٌ أَيٌّ بَادِنٌ.
And a bidhakh woman, meaning stout.
