وما أغنى عني وتحة، بفتح التاء، كقولك ما أغنى عني عبكة، وقيل: معناه ما أغنى عني شيئا.
And what use is a waḥḥah (with fatha on the ta') to me, like you say 'what use is 'abakah to me', and it was said: it means 'what use is anything to me'.
وأوتح الرجل: جهده وبلغ منه؛
And the man was strained: he was exerted and reached his limit;
قرقمهم عيش خبيث أوتحا هذه رواية ثعلب، ورواه ابن الأعرابي: أوتخا، وفسره بما فسر به ثعلب أوتحا؛
A wicked life made them suffer greatly, this is the narration of Tha'lab, and Ibn al-A'rabi narrated it: 'awṭakhan', and he interpreted 'awṭaḥan' as Tha'lab did;
قال: وأوتح جهدهم وبلغ منهم.
He said: And it exerted them and reached them.
وأوتحت مني: بلغت مني وكأنه أبدل الحاء من الخاء.
And it strained me: it reached me, and it is as if ha was substituted for kha.
وشيء وتح وعر إتباع له أي نزر قليل.
And something waṭḥ and 'ar is an echo of it, meaning very little.
ورجل وتح: بكسر التاء، أي خسيس.
And a man waṭiḥ: with kasra on the ta', meaning base.
وأوتح فلان عطيته أي أقلها، وكذلك التوتيح.
And so-and-so made his gift meager, meaning he reduced its quantity, and likewise al-tatyīḥ.
وأوتح له الشيء إذا قلله.
And he made the thing seem small to him if he diminished it.
وتوتحت من الشراب: شربت شيئا قليلا.
And I drank sparingly of the beverage: I drank a little.
