The Arabs say about one who mixes falsehood with truth: 'He is mending his shoes, and he is 'yartathī'' if he mixes falsehood with truth.

And he 'yamtaliḥ' similarly.

فإذا قالوا فلان يمتلح، فهو الذي لا يخلص الصدق

And when they say 'So-and-so 'yamtaliḥ'', it means he is one who does not speak the truth clearly.

وإذا قالوا عند فلان كذب قليل، فهو الصدوق الذي لا يكذب

And when they say about someone 'a little falsehood', it means he is 'al-ṣadūq' who does not lie.

وإذا قالوا إن فلانا يمتذق، فهو الكذوب

And when they say 'So-and-so 'yamtadhiq'', it means he is the liar.
