And that in his hair is inflamed, passively, and al-madh is interpreted as itching in the thighs;
وقيل: إنه جزء من السحج.
And it is said: it is a part of abrasion.
قال وهو بمكة: لو شئت لأخذت سبتي فمشيت بها ثم لم أمذح حتى أطأ المكان الذي تخرج منه الدابة ؛
He said while in Mecca: If I wished, I would take my sandals and walk with them, then I would not chafe until I tread the place from which the beast emerges;
قال: المذح أن تصطك الفخذان من الماشي وأكثر ما يعرض للسمين من الرجال، وكان ابن عمرو كذلك.
He said: Al-madh is the thighs rubbing together of the walker, and it most often occurs to fat men, and Ibn Amr was like that.
يقال: مذح يمذح مذحا، وأراد قرب الموضع الذي تخرج منه؛
It is said: he chafes, he chafes with chafing, and he intended the proximity of the place from which it emerges;
وقيل: المذح احتراق ما بين الرفغين والأليتين.
And it is said: Al-madh is the burning of what is between the groins and the buttocks.
ومذحت الضأن مذحا: عرقت أرفاغها.

ومذحت خصية التيس مذحا إذا احتك بشيء فتشققت منه؛

And it is said: Al-madh is when one thing rubs against another and cracks.
وأرى ذلك في الحيوان خاصة.

وتمذحت خاصرته: انتفخت؛
And his flank became distended: it swelled;
فلما سقيناها العكيس تمذحت ... خواصرها، وازداد رشحا وريدها
And when we gave it to drink of the thick milk, its flanks became distended... and its veins increased in flow.
والتمذح: التمدد؛
And al-tamadh: stretching;
يقال: شرب حتى تمذحت خاصرته أي انتفخت من الري.
