والقريحاء: هنة تكون في بطن الفرس مثل رأس الرجل
And Al-Qarīḥā' is a growth that is in the belly of a horse like a man's head.
وهي من البعير لقاطة الحصى
And it is from a camel a collection of pebbles.
والقرحان: ضرب من الكمأة بيض صغار ذوات رؤوس كرؤوس الفطر
And Al-Qurḥān is a type of truffle, small white ones with heads like mushroom heads.
من كمأة حمر، ومن قرحان
From red truffles, and from Qurḥān.

And in the Hadith: coarse bread and pure water; it is, with the fatḥa, water that has not been mixed with anything to make it pleasant, like honey, dates, and raisins.
والقراح من الأرضين: كل قطعة على حيالها من منابت النخل وغير ذلك
And Al-Qarāḥ of lands: every piece in its own way from palm groves and other things.

والقرواح: جلد من الأرض وقاع لا يستمسك فيه الماء، وفيه إشراف وظهره مستو ولا يستقر فيه ماء إلا سال عنه يمينا وشمالا
And Al-Qarwāḥ: a patch of land and a depression where water does not hold, and it has an elevation and its surface is level, and water does not settle in it except it flows away right and left.
والقرواح أيضا: البارز الذي ليس يستره من السماء شيء
And Al-Qarwāḥ also: the prominent thing that nothing from the sky conceals.
والمستكن كمن يمشي بقرواح
And the hidden one is like one walking in the open.
وناقة قرواح: طويلة القوائم
And a Qarwāḥ she-camel: long-legged.
والتي كأنها تمشي على أرماح
And she is as if walking on spears.
ونخلة قرواح: ملساء جرداء طويلة
And a Qarwāḥ palm tree: smooth, bare, tall.
والشم: الطوال من النخل وغيرها
And Al-Shamm: the tall ones of palm trees and others.
والجلاد: الصوابر على الحر والعطش وعلى البرد
And Al-Jillād: the patient ones against heat, thirst, and cold.
وهي النخلة التي انجرد كربها وطالت
And it is the palm tree whose spathes have fallen and it has become tall.
ولقيه مقارحة أي كفاحا ومواجهة
And he met him in confrontation, meaning face-to-face and directly.
والقراحي: الذي يلتزم القرية ولا يخرج إلى البادية
And Al-Qarāḥī: he who stays in the village and does not go out to the desert.
يدافع عنكم كل يوم عظيمة، ... وأنت قراحي بسيف الكواظم
He defends you daily from a great matter, ... and you are my Qarāḥī (villager/free from) with the sword of Al-Kawāẓim.
أنت قرحان من هذا الأمر وقراحي أي خارج، وأنشد بيت جرير وفسره، أي أنت خلو منه سليم
You are Qirḥān from this matter and Qarāḥī, meaning outside, and he recited Jarir's verse and explained it, meaning you are free from it, safe.
وقرحان: اسم كلب
And Qurḥān: the name of a dog.
وأشربتها الأقران، حتى أنختها ... بقرح، وقد ألقين كل جنين
And the she-camels drank from it, until I made her kneel... at Qaraḥ, and they had dropped every fetus.
قراحية ألوت بليف كأنها ... عفاء قلوص، طار عنها تواجر
A Qaraḥīyah (sword from Qaraḥ), wrapped in palm fiber, as if... the dung of a young she-camel, whose beauty made it sought after.
وفي الحديث ذكر قرح، بضم القاف وسكون الراء، وقد يجرك في الشعر: سوق وادي القرى صلى به رسول الله، صلى الله عليه وسلم، وبني به مسجد
And in the Hadith, Qaraḥ is mentioned, with damma on the qaf and sukun on the ra, and it may lead you in poetry: the markets of Wadi al-Qura, where the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, prayed, and a mosque was built there.
حبسن في قرح وفي دارتها، ... سبع ليال، غير معلوفاتها
They were held in Qaraḥ and its vicinity, ... for seven nights, without their fodder.
