اِطفح الطفاحة: أخذها
Iṭfaḥ al-ṭuffāḥa: to take it (the scum).
أتتكم الجوفاء جوعى تطفح، ... طفاحة الإثر، وطورا تجتدح
The hungry one from the belly has come to you, overflowing... the foam of the tracks, and at times she strikes sparks.
طفاحة القوائم «2» أي سريعتها
Tuffahat al-qawā'im means swift of legs.
والطافح الذي يعدو.
And al-tafih is the one who runs.
وقد طفح يطفح إذا عدا
And he ran, he runs, if he ran.
معط الحلوق، إذا ما أدركوا طفحوا أي ذهبوا في الأرض يعدون.
With mouths open, when they were caught, they ran, meaning they went across the land running.
والريح تطفح القطنة: تسطع بها
And the wind scatters the cotton: it spreads it.
ممزقا في الريح أو مطفوحا
Torn in the wind or scattered.
واطفح عني أي اذهب عني.
And iṭfaḥ from me means go away from me.
وإن كان عليه طفاح الأرض ذنوبا
Even if he had the abundance of the earth's sins upon him.
وهو أن تمتلئ حتى تطفح أي تفيض

ومننه أخذ طفاحة القدر.
And from it, the scum of the pot is derived.
ويقال لما تؤخذ به الطفاحة: مطفحة، وهو كفكير بالفارسية.
And what is used to take the scum is called mitfaḥa, which is like a skimmer in Persian.
