والأصبح من الشعر: الذي يخالطه بياض بحمرة خلقة أيا كان؛ وقد اصباح.
And al-aṣbaḥ of hair: that which is mixed with whiteness and redness by creation, whatever it may be; and he has become reddish-haired.
وقال الليث: الصبح شدة الحمرة في الشعر، والأصبح قريب من الأصهب.
And Al-Layth said: al-ṣubḥ is intense redness in the hair, and al-aṣbaḥ is close to al-aṣhab.
وروى شمر عن أبي نصر قال: في الشعر الصبحة والملحة.
And Shammir narrated from Abu Nasr who said: In hair, there is al-ṣubḥah and al-malḥah.
ورجل أصبح اللحية: للذي تعلو شعره حمرة، ومن ذلك قيل: دم صباحي لشدة حمرته؛ قال أبو زبيد: عبيط صباحي من الجوف أشقرا
And a man with a reddish beard: for one whose hair has redness on it, and from this it is said: a morning blood for its intense redness; Abu Zubayd said: a fresh morning blood from al-Jawf, reddish-brown.
والصبح: بريق الحديد وغيره.
And al-ṣubḥ: the gleam of iron and other things.
والمصباح: السراج، وهو قرطه الذي تراه في القنديل وغيره، والقراط لغة، وهو قول الله، عز وجل: المصباح في زجاجة الزجاجة كأنها كوكب دري .
And al-miṣbāḥ: the lamp, and it is its wick that you see in the lantern and elsewhere, and 'qirāṭ' is a dialect, and it is the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: The lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a shining star.

And in Jabir's Hadith concerning the fats of carrion: And people use it to light their lamps, meaning they ignite their wicks with it.
وفي حديث يحيى بن زكريا، عليهما السلام: كان يخدم بيت المقدس نهارا ويصبح فيه ليلا أي يسرج السراح.
And in the Hadith of Yahya ibn Zakariya, peace be upon them: He used to serve the House of the Sanctuary by day and light lamps in it by night, meaning he would light the lamps.
والمصبح، بالفتح: موضع الإصباح ووقت الإصباح أيضا؛ قال الشاعر: بمصبح الحمد وحيث يمسي
And al-muṣbaḥ, with fatha: the place of morning and the time of morning also; the poet said: At the place of morning praise and where he spends the evening.
والمصبح أيضا: الإصباح؛ يقال: أصبحنا إصباحا ومصبحا؛ وقول النمر بن تولب: فأصبحت والليل مستحكم، ... وأصبحت الأرض بحرا طما
And al-muṣbaḥ also: the morning; it is said: We entered the morning, a morning and a muṣbaḥ; and the saying of Al-Nimr ibn Tawlab: So I entered the morning while the night was strong, ... and the land became a vast sea.
ففسره ابن الأعرابي فقال: أصبحت من المصباح؛ وقال غيره: شبه البرق بالليل بالمصباح، وشد ذلك قول أبي ذؤيب: أمنك برق أبيت الليل أرقبه؟ ... كأنه، في عراص الشام، مصباح
And Ibn al-A'rabi interpreted it, saying: I became from the lamp; and others said: He likened lightning at night to a lamp, and this is strengthened by the saying of Abu Dhu'ayb: Is it from you, lightning, that I watch all night? ... As if it were, in the plains of Sham, a lamp.
والشمع مما يصطبح به أي يسرج به.
And wax is among what is used for illumination, meaning it is used to light lamps.
والمصبح والمصباح: قدح كبير؛ عن أبي حنيفة.
And al-muṣbaḥ and al-miṣbāḥ: a large cup; from Abu Hanifa.
والمصابيح: الأقداح التي يصطبح بها؛ وأنشد: نهل ونسعى بالمصابيح وسطها، ... لها أمر حزم لا يفرق، مجمع
And al-maṣābīḥ: the cups with which one lights lamps; and he recited: We drink and we strive with the cups in their midst, ... they have a firm command that does not falter, a gathering.
ومصابيح النجوم: أعلام الكواكب، واحدها مصباح.
And the lamps of the stars: the markers of the planets, the singular of which is miṣbāḥ.
والمصباح: السنان العريض.

But from al-ṣubḥ, it is said ṣabaḥa, yaṣbaḥu ṣabāḥan, it is the hair becoming reddish.
ورجل صبيح وصباح، بالضم: جميل، والجمع صباح؛ وافق الذين يقولون فعال الذين يقولون فعيل لاعتقابهما كثيرا، والأنثى فيهما، بالهاء، والجمع صباح، وافق مذكره في التكسير لاتفاقهما في الوصفية؛ وقد صبح صباحة؛ وقال الليث: الصبيح الوضيء الوجه.
And a handsome man and a beautiful one, with damma: beautiful, and the plural is ṣibāḥ; it agrees with those who say 'fā'āl' with those who say 'fa'īl' because they are often interchangeable, and the feminine of both, with ha, and the plural is ṣibāḥ, agreeing with its masculine in broken pluralization due to their agreement in description; and he became beautiful; and Al-Layth said: al-ṣabīḥ is one with a bright face.
وذو أصبح: ملك من ملوك حمير «3» وإليه تنسب السياط الأصبحية.
And Dhu Asbah: a king from the kings of Himyar, and to him are attributed the Asbahī whips.
والأصبهي: السوط.
And al-aṣbaḥī: the whip.
صباح: حي من العرب، وقد سمت صبحا وصباحا وصبيحا وصباحا وصبيحا ومصبحا.
Ṣabāḥ: a tribe from the Arabs, and they have named [people] Ṣubḥan, Ṣabāḥan, Ṣabīḥan, Ṣabāḥan, Ṣabīḥan, and Muṣbaḥan.
