And 'jamaha' towards him means he hurried.

لولوا إليه وهم يجمحون

An unruly horse ('jamuh') has two meanings: the first is used as a fault, and that is when its habit is to charge headlong, its rider cannot restrain it.

وإنما مدحها فقال: وأعددت للحرب وثابة، ... جواد المحثة والمرود ثم وصفها فقال: جموحا مروحا أو سبوحا أي تسرع براكبها

And he praised it, saying: 'And I prepared for war, a leaping one, ... a generous one, urged and guided.' Then he described it, saying: 'jamuhan maruhatan' or 'sabuhan', meaning it speeds its rider.

وفي الحديث: أنه جمح في أثره أي أسرع إسراعا لا يرده شيء

And in the hadith: 'He 'jamaha' in his pursuit', meaning he rushed with a speed that nothing could stop him.

وجمحت السفينة تجمح جموحا: تركت قصدها فلم يضبطها الملاحون

And the ship became unruly (jamahat) with unruliness (jamuhan): it left its course and the sailors could not control it.

وتجامح الصبيان بالكعاب إذا رموا كعبا بكعب حتى يزيله عن موضعه

And the children play 'tajamuh' with knuckle-bones when they throw one knuckle-bone against another until it is displaced from its position.

It is thrown at a bird, and it knocks it down without killing it, until its thrower retrieves it.
