يقال ذبحه وبذحه، ودبحه وبدحه، ومنه سمي بديح المغني، كان إذا غنى قطع غناء غيره بحسن صوته.

It is said: dhabaḥahu and badhaḥahu, and dabaḥahu and badaḥahu, and from this Badiḥ the singer was named, for when he sang, he would cut off others' singing with his beautiful voice.
