وليجة الرجل: بطانته وخاصته ودخلته
A man's walijah: his inner circle, his close associates, and his intimates.
ولم يتخذوا من دون الله ولا رسوله ولا المؤمنين وليجة
And they did not take from among other than Allah, His Messenger, and the believers a walijah (confidant/ally).
وليجة كل شيء أولجته فيه وليس منه، فهو وليجة
A walijah is anything you introduce into something else that is not part of it; it is a walijah.
والرجل يكون في القوم وليس منهم، فهو وليجة فيهم
And a man who is among a people but not from them, he is a walijah among them.
فإن القوافي يتلجن موالجا
For the verses penetrate passages.
وأولجه: أدخله
And awlajah: he made it enter.
وادعى الوليجة
And he claimed the walijah (inner circle/confidants).
أن أنسا كان يتولج على النساء وهن مكشفات الرؤوس أي يدخل عليهن، وهو صغير، ولا يحتجبن منه
That Anas used to tawlij upon the women while their heads were uncovered, meaning he would enter upon them while he was young, and they did not veil from him.
ولج ماله توليجا إذا جعله في حياته لبعض ولده، فتسامع الناس بذلك فانقدعوا عن سؤاله
He made over his wealth with tawlij if he gave it to some of his children during his lifetime, so people heard about it and refrained from asking him.

التولج: كناس الظبي أو الوحش الذي يلج فيه

Taking a den in the low-lying plants.
وقد اتلج الظبي في كناسه وأتلجه فيه الحر أي أولجه
And the gazelle entered its den, and the heat made it enter it, meaning it caused it to enter.
أعوذ بالله من شر كل تالج ومالج
I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of every penetrator and intruder.
