وَفِي حَدِيثِ الشُّهَدَاءِ: أَوْدَاجُهُمْ تَشْخُبُ دَمًا، قِيلَ: هِيَ مَا أَحَاطَ بِالْعُنُقِ مِنَ الْعُرُوقِ الَّتِي يَقْطَعُهَا الذَّابِحُ
And in the hadith of the martyrs: Their 'awdaj' were gushing blood; it was said: They are what surrounds the neck of the veins that the slaughterer cuts.
وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ: كُلُّ مَا أَفْرَى الْأَوْدَاجَ
And in the hadith: Whatever cuts open the 'awdaj'.
وَالْحَدِيثُ الْآخَرُ: فَانْتَفَخَتْ أَوْدَاجُهُ.
And the other hadith: And his 'awdaj' swelled.
وَالتَّوْدِيجُ فِي الدَّوَابِّ كَالْفَصْدِ فِي النَّاسِ.

And it is said: 'Dujj' your animal, meaning cut its 'wadaj', and it is for it like phlebotomy for a human.
وَدَجَهُ وَدْجًا وَوَدَاجًا وَوَدَجَهُ: قَطَعَ وَدَجَهُ
He cut his 'wadaj' with 'wadjan' and 'wadajan' and 'wadajahu': he cut his 'wadaj'.
وَوَدَجَ بَيْنَ الْقَوْمِ وَدْجًا: أَصْلَحَ.
And he reconciled between the people with 'wadjan': he made peace.
وَفُلَانٌ وُدْجِيٌّ إِلَى فُلَانٍ أَيْ وَسِيلَتِي وَسَبَبِي.
