Abu Ubaid said: تمخجت water means if you move it.

He said: Pure water from the depths that the buckets have not تمخج, meaning the buckets have not churned it.
الأصمعي: مخج البئر ومخضها، بمعنى واحد.
Al-Asma'i: مخج a well and مخض it are one in meaning.
ومخج البئر يمخجها مخجا: ألح عليها في الغرب؛
And to مخج a well means to persist in drawing from it;
وبه فسر ابن الأعرابي قوله: يزيدها مخج الدلا جموما
And with this, Ibn Al-Arabi interpreted his saying: the vigorous drawing of the buckets increases its abundance.
وأنشد يعقوب: ترى الغلام اليافع الحزورا، ... يمخج بالدلو، وقد تغشمرا
And Ya'qub recited: You see the strong, young boy, ... he is vigorously drawing with the bucket, and he has girded himself.
