Al-Raghtha'wan is the darkness of the nipples of the breasts.
ورغثت المرأة ترغث إذا شكت رغثاءها.
And the woman nursed (complained) if she felt pain in her raghtha.
وأرغثه: طعنه في رغثائه؛
And 'arghathahu': he stabbed him in his raghthah;

وفي حديث الصدقة: أن لا يؤخذ فيها الربى والماخض والرغوث أي التي ترضع.
And in the hadith about charity: that usury, the pregnant animal, and the nursing animal, meaning the one that is nursing, should not be taken.

And in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, departed, and you are nursing it; meaning the world, i.e., you are suckling it; from 'raghath al-jadyu ummahu' if it suckled her.
وأرغثت النعجة ولدها: أرضعته.
And the ewe nursed its young: she suckled it.
ورغث الجدي أمه أي رضعها.
And the kid suckled its mother, meaning it nursed from her.
وشاة رغوث ورغوثة: مرضع، وهي من الضأن خاصة، واستعملها بعضهم في الإبل فقال: أصدرها، عن طثرة الدآث، ... صاحب ليل، خرش التبعاث يجمع للرعاء في ثلاث طول الصوا، وقلة الإرغاث
And a sheep is 'raghooth' and 'raghoothah': nursing, and it is specific to sheep, and some used it for camels, saying: He brought it forth, from the abundance of the udder... a companion of the night, gathering for the shepherds in three long periods, and little nursing.
وقيل: الرغوث من الشاء التي قد ولدت فقط؛
And it is said: Al-Raghooth is from sheep that have only just given birth;
وقوله: حتى يرى في يابس الثرياء حث، ... يعجز عن ري الطلي المرتغث
And his saying: until one sees in the dry Thuriaa' a push, ... unable to satisfy the suckled lamb.
وبرذونة رغوث: لا تكاد ترفع رأسها من المعلف.
And a 'barzounah raghooth': a mule that hardly lifts its head from the manger.
وفي المثل: آكل الدواب برذونة رغوث، وهي فعول في معنى مفعولة، لأنها مرغوثة.
And in the proverb: The most eating of beasts is a greedy mule, and it is 'fa'ool' in the meaning of 'maf'ool', because it is being fed upon.
ورغثه الناس: أكثروا سؤاله حتى فني ما عنده.
And the people 'raghathuhu': they asked him excessively until he had nothing left.
وقال أبو عبيد: رغث، فهو مرغوث، فجاء به على صيغة ما لم يسم فاعله: أكثر عليه السؤال حتى نفد ما عنده.
And Abu Ubaid said: 'raghath', and he is 'marghooth', and he brought it in the passive form: He was questioned excessively until he had nothing left.
