وقيل: المال كله والمتاع ما كان من لباس، أو حشو لفراش، أو دثار، واحدته أثاثة
And it was said: all the wealth and the possessions, whether clothing, or filling for a mattress, or a cloak, its singular is athathah.

And in the Noble Qur'an: furnishings and riches.
الفراء: الأثاث المتاع، وكذلك قال أبو زيد
Al-Farra' said: Al-athath means possessions, and Abu Zayd said the same.
والأثاث: المال أجمع، الإبل والغنم والعبيد والمتاع
And al-athath: all the wealth, camels, sheep, slaves, and possessions.
وقال الفراء: الأثاث لا واحد لها، كما أن المتاع لا واحد له
And Al-Farra' said: Al-athath has no singular, just as al-mata' has no singular.
قال: ولو جمعت الأثاث، لقلت: ثلاثة آثة، وأثث كثيرة
He said: And if you were to pluralize al-athath, you would say: three 'aathah, and many 'athath.
والأثاث: أنواع المتاع من متاع البيت ونحوه
And al-athath: types of possessions from household goods and the like.
وتأثث الرجل: أصاب خيرا؛ وفي الصحاح: أصاب رياشا
And the man ta'aththatha: acquired good; and in Al-Sihah: acquired furnishings.
وأثاثة: اسم رجل، بالضم؛ قال ابن دريد: أحسب أن اشتقاقه من هذا
And Athathah: the name of a man, with dammah; Ibn Duraid said: I think its derivation is from this.
