And a man is muxt: submissive and shy; and it is said: he has shy speech, from it, so he is muxt.
أنه اختات للضرب حتى خيف عليه
That he 'ixtata' for the beating until he was feared for.
أخته القول: أحشمه.
The saying 'akhtathu': It made him shy.
وأخت الله حظه: أخسه، وهو ختيت
And 'akhta Allah his fortune': He made it base, and it is xatit.
ليس يعطى القوي فضلا من المال، ... ولا يحرم الضعيف الختيت
The strong is not given preference in wealth, ... nor is the weak, the xatit, deprived.
والختيت: الخسيس من كل شيء؛ والختيت والخسيس واحد.
