And in the Hadith of Ibn 'Amr: The halba' animal that spoke to Tamim is the beast of the earth that speaks to people, meaning the Jassasah.

ابن الأعرابي: الهلوب الصفة المحمودة، أخذت من اليوم الهلاب إذا كان مطره سهلا لينا دائما غير مؤذ؛ والصفة المذمومة أخذت من اليوم الهلاب إذا كان مطره ذا رعد، وبرق، وأهوال، وهدم للمنازل.

Ibn al-A'rabi: Al-halub is the praiseworthy characteristic, taken from the day halab if its rain is easy, soft, continuous, and not harmful; and the blameworthy characteristic is taken from the day halab if its rain has thunder, lightning, terrors, and destruction of homes.

ويوم هلاب، وعام هلاب: كثير المطر والريح.

And a day halab, and a year halab: much rain and wind.

قال: والهلب تتابع القطر؛ قال رؤبة: والمذريات بالدواري حصبا ... بها جلالا، ودقاقا هلبا

He said: And al-halab is the succession of rain; Ru'bah said: And the winds scattering in the plains, throwing ... large and small halaba.

الأموي: أتيته في هلبة الشتاء أي في شدة برده.

Al-Umari: I came to him in halabah of winter, meaning in the severity of its cold.

ومن أيام الشتاء: هالب الشعر ومدحرج البعر.

And among the days of winter: halib al-sha'r and mudahrij al-ba'r.

له أهلوب أي التهاب في الشد وغيره، مقلوب عن ألهوب أو لغة فيه.

He has ahlub, meaning intensity in hardship and other things, a transposition from alhub or a dialect for it.

وامرأة هلوب: تتقرب من زوجها وتحبه، وتقصي غيره وتتباعد عنه؛ وقيل: تتقرب من خلها وتحبه، وتقصي زوجها، ضد.

And a woman halub: she draws near to her husband and loves him, and distances herself from others; and it is said: she draws near to her lover and loves him, and distances herself from her husband, the opposite.

وفي حديث عمر، رضي الله تعالى عنه: رحم الله الهلوب؛ يعني الأولى، ولعن الله الهلوب ؛ يعني الأخرى؛ وذلك من هلبته بلساني إذا نلت منه نيلا شديدا، لأن المرأة تنال إما من زوجها وإما من خدنها، فترحم على الأولى ولعن الثانية.

And in the Hadith of 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him: May Allah have mercy on the halub; meaning the first, and may Allah curse the halub; meaning the second; and this is from halabtuhi bi lisani if I attain something severe from him, because a woman attains either from her husband or from her lover, so mercy is for the first and a curse for the second.

Ibn Shamil: It is said that he halaba people with his tongue if he insults and reviles them.

يقال: هو هلاب أي هجاء، وهو مهلب أي مهجو.

It is said: He is halab, meaning an insulter, and he is muhallab, meaning insulted.

وقال خليفة الحصيني: يقال ركب كل منهم أهلوبا من الثناء أي فنا، وهي الأهاليب؛ وقال أبو عبيدة: هي الأساليب، واحدها أسلوب.

And Khalifa al-Husayni said: It is said that each of them rode an ahlub of praise, meaning a style, and they are al-ahalib; and Abu 'Ubaydah said: They are al-asalib, the singular of which is uslub.

أبو عبيد: الهلابة غسالة السلى، وهي في الحولاء، والحولاء رأس السلى، وهي غرس، كقدر القارورة، تراها خضراء بعد الولد، تسمى هلابة السقي.

Abu 'Ubayd: Al-halabah is the discharge of the amniotic fluid, and it is in the hawla', and al-hawla' is the head of the amniotic sac, and it is a growth, like the size of a flask, you see it green after the child, it is called halabah al-saqi.

ويقال: أهلب في عدوه إهلابا، وألهب إلهابا، وعدوه ذو أهاليب.

And it is said: He ahlab in his running ihlaban, and alhab ilhaban, and his running is dhu ahaleeb.

وفي نوادر الأعراب: اهتلب السيف من غمده وأعتقه وامترقه واخترطه إذا استله.

And in the rare sayings of the Arabs: He ihtalab the sword from its sheath, and freed it, and extracted it, and drew it out if he unsheathed it.
