قلت: يا رسول الله اطلب إلي طلبة، فإني أحب أن أطلبكها.

I said: O Messenger of God, request of me a request, for I love to fulfill it for you.

وكلأ مطلب : بعيد المطلب يكلف أن يطلب.

And pasture sought: distant to be sought, requiring effort to be sought.

ماء مطلب: بعيد من الكلإ؛

Water sought: distant from pasture;

وبئر طلوب: بعيدة الماء، وآبار طلب؛

And a 'bi'r ṭalūb': distant in water (i.e., deep), and wells of 'ṭalab';

أطلب لي شيئا: ابغه لي.

Seek something for me: find it for me.

فالله لكما أن أرد عنكما الطلب.

By God, I will prevent the seekers from reaching you.

أمشي خلفك أخشى الطلب.

I walk behind you, fearing the pursuit.

والطلبة: السفرة البعيدة.

And 'al-ṭalabah': the distant journey.

وطلب إذا اتبع، وطلب إذا تباعد، وإنه لطلب نساء: أي يطلبهن، والجمع أطلاب وطلبة، وهي طلبه وطلبته، الأخيرة عن اللحياني: إذا كان يطلبها ويهواها.

And 'ṭalab' when it means following, and 'ṭalab' when it means being distant, and indeed he is a 'ṭalab' of women: meaning he seeks them, and the plural is 'aṭlāb' and 'ṭalabah', and 'ṭalabah' and 'ṭalabatuh', the latter from Al-Laythiyani: when he seeks them and desires them.
