وتقول: إنه لشديد الرعب؛
And you say: he is full of dread;
السنام المرعب: المقطع.
The terrifying hump: the severed one.
ورعب السنام وغيره، يرعبه، ورعبه: قطعه.

والترعيبة، بالكسر: القطعة منه، والجمع ترعيب؛
And Al-Tar'ībah, with kasra: the piece of it, and the plural is Tar'īb;
وقيل: الترعيب السنام المقطع شطائب مستطيلة، وهو اسم لا مصدر.
And it was said: Al-Tar'īb is the hump cut into long strips, and it is a noun, not a masdar.

وقال شمر: ترعيبه ارتجاجه وسمنه وغلظه، كأنه يرتج من سمنه.

والرعبوبة: كالترعيبة، ويقال: أطعمنا رعبوبة من سنام عنده، وهو الرعبب.
And Al-Ru'būbah: like Al-Tar'ībah, and it is said: we were fed a piece of hump from a hump he had, and it is Al-Ru'bab.
وجارية رعبوبة ورعبوب ورعبيب: شطبة تارة، الأخيرة عن السيرافي من هذا، والجمع الرعابيب؛

And Al-Layth recited: Then we spent the night with roasted meat, plump ... with a full stomach, like the dried dung we scrape.
وقال اللحياني: هي البيضاء الناعمة.
And Al-Lahyānī said: she is the soft white one.
ويقال لأصل الطلعة: رعبوبة أيضا.
And the base of the palm frond is also called Ru'būbah.
والرعبوبة: الطويلة، عن ابن الأعرابي.
And Al-Ru'būbah: the tall one, from Ibn Al-A'rābī.
وناقة رعبوبة ورعبوب: خفيفة طياشة؛
And a Ru'būbah and Ru'būb camel: light and skittish;
إذا حركتها الساق قلت: نعامة، ... وإن زجرت، يوما، فليست برعبوب
If the leg moves her, you say: an ostrich, ... and if you scold her, one day, she is not skittish
والرعبوب: الضعيف الجبان.

والرعب: رقية من السحر، رعب الراقي يرعب رعبا.
And Al-Ru'b: an incantation against magic, the incanter recites, terrifying with terror.
ورجل رعاب: رقاء من ذلك.

والأرعب: القصير، وهو الرعيب أيضا، وجمعه رعب ورعب؛
And Al-Ar'ab: the short one, and he is also Al-Ra'īb, and his plural is Ru'b and Ru'ab;
