And al-maḥẓarib: the narrow of build;

يقول: هو مسدد، حديد اللسان، حديد النظر، فإذا نزلت به الأمور، وجدت غيره ممن ليس له نظره وحدته، أقوم بها منه.

He means: he is well-aimed, sharp of tongue, sharp of sight, and when matters befall him, you find others, who lack his insight and sharpness, more capable of dealing with them than him.

وكائن ترى من لوذعي محظرب، ... وليس له، عند العزيمة، جول

And how many a clever, resolute person you see, ... who lacks resolve when it comes to decision.

يقول: هو مسدد، حديد اللسان، حديد النظر، فإذا نزلت به الأمور، وجدت غيره ممن ليس له نظره وحدته، أقوم بها منه.

He means: he is well-aimed, sharp of tongue, sharp of sight, and when matters befall him, you find others, who lack his insight and sharpness, more capable of dealing with them than him.

والجول: العزيمة. ويقال: العقل.

And al-jawl: resolve. And it is said: intellect.

والحصاة أيضا: العقل، يقال: هو ثابت الحصاة، إذا كان عاقلا.

And al-ḥuṣāh also: intellect; it is said: he is firm of intellect, if he is rational.

وضرع محظرب: ضيق الأخلاف.

And a maḥẓarib udder: narrow of teats.

وكل مملوء محظرب، وقد تقدم في الضاد.
