In the hadith: that he, peace be upon him, used to eat al-jashib, which is the thick and rough of food, and it was said, unseasoned.
وَكُلُّ بَشِعِ الطَّعْمِ فَهُوَ جَشِبٌ.
And everything unpleasant in taste is coarse.
وَفِي حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: كَانَ يَأْتِينَا بِطَعَامٍ جَشِبٍ.
And in the hadith of Umar, may God be pleased with him: he used to bring us coarse food.
لَوْ وَجَدَ عِرْقًا سَمِينًا أَوْ مَرْمَاتَيْنِ جَشِبَتَيْنِ أَوْ خَشَبَتَيْنِ لَأَجَابَ.
