Ibn al-Athir said in the hadith of Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, he mentioned Turbah, like humzah, which is with a dammah on the taa and a fatha on the raa, a valley near Mecca, two days away from it.
وتربة: واد من أودية اليمن.
And Turbah: a valley from the valleys of Yemen.
وتربة والتربة والترباء وتربان وأتارب: مواضع.
And Turbah, al-Turbah, al-Turbā', Turbān, and Atārib: places.
ويترب، بفتح الراء: موضع قريب من اليمامة.

Al-Ashja'i said: 'I made a promise, and breaking it was your nature... the promises of 'Urqub to his brother in Yatarib.'
وأنكر بيثرب، وقال: عرقوب من العماليق، ويترب من بلادهم ولم تسكن العماليق يثرب.
And he rejected 'Yathrib', saying: 'Urqub was from the Amalekites, and Yatarib was from their lands, and the Amalekites did not inhabit Yathrib.'
وفي حديث عائشة، رضي الله عنها: كنا بتربان.
And in the hadith of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: 'We were in Turbān.'
قال ابن الأثير: هو موضع كثير المياه بينه وبين المدينة نحو خمسة فراسخ.
Ibn al-Athir said: 'It is a place with abundant water, about five parasangs between it and Medina.'
وتربة: موضع «2» من بلاد بني عامر بن مالك، ومن أمثالهم: عرف بطني بطن تربة، يضرب للرجل يصير إلى الأمر الجلي بعد الأمر الملتبس؛ والمثل لعامر بن مالك أبي البراء.
And Turbah: a place from the lands of Banu 'Amir ibn Malik. And among their proverbs: 'My belly knows the belly of Turbah', used for a man who reaches a clear matter after a confusing one; and the proverb is attributed to 'Amir ibn Malik, Abu al-Bara'.
والتربية: حنطة حمراء، وسنبلها أيضا أحمر ناصع الحمرة، وهي رقيقة تنتشر مع أدنى برد أو ريح، حكاه أبو حنيفة.
And al-Tarbiyah: red wheat, and its stalk is also bright red, and it is delicate, spreading with the slightest cold or wind, as narrated by Abu Hanifa.
