وقال أبو الهيثم: العانة منبت الشعر من قبل المرأة والرجل، والشعر النابت عليها يقال له الشعرة والإسب.
And Abu Al-Haytham said: Al-'anah is the place where hair grows for both woman and man, and the hair growing on it is called al-shu'arah and al-isb.
لعمر الذي جاءت بكم من شفلح، ... لدى نسييها، ساقط الإسب، أهلبا
By the life of Him who brought you forth from Shaffalah, ... near their private parts, with the pubic hair fallen out, thick and abundant.
وكبش مؤسب: كثير الصوف.
