Ibn al-Athir: Al-khira'ah, with kasra and madd: relieving oneself and sitting for a need;
قال الخطابي: وأكثر الرواة يفتحون الخاء، قال: وقد يحتمل أن يكون بالفتح مصدرا وبالكسر اسما.
Al-Khattabi said: Most narrators pronounce the kha' with fatha. He said: It is possible that with fatha it is a masdar and with kasra it is a noun.
واسم السلح: الخرء.

Jawas bin Nu'aym al-Dabbi said, satirizing; and Ibn al-Qatta' attributed it to Jawas bin al-Qa'tal, but it is not his: As if the droppings of birds were above their heads, ... when Qays, Ma'an, and Tamim gathered. When you ask al-Dabbi about the worst of his people, ... he will tell you: Indeed, al-'A'idhi is ignoble. As if the droppings of birds were above their heads, meaning from their humiliation.
ومن جمعه أيضا: خرآن، وخرؤ، فعل، يقال: رموا بخروئهم وسلوحهم، ورمى بخرآنه وسلحانه.
And from its plurals also: khara'an, and kharu', fa'al. It is said: They threw their excrement and their dung, and he threw his excrement and his dung.
وخروءة: فعولة، وقد يقال ذلك للجرذ والكلب.
And khuru'ah: fa'ulah, and that may be said for a gerbil and a dog.
قال بعض العرب: طليت بشيء كأنه خرء الكلب؛
Some of the Arabs said: I was smeared with something that was like dog excrement;
وخروء: يعني النورة، وقد يكون ذلك للنحل والذباب.
And khuru': meaning lime (hair remover), and that may be for bees and flies.
والمخرأة والمخرؤة: موضع الخراءة.
And al-makhra'ah and al-makhru'ah: the place of defecation.
التهذيب: والمخرؤة: المكان الذي يتخلى فيه، ويقال للمخرج: مخرؤة ومخرأة.
