زفن

زَفَّانٌ ذ A dancer: [whence] one says, الصُّوفِيَّةُ زَفَّانَةٌ جَفَّانَةٌ The Soofees are dancers, providers of food with their جَفَنَات [or bowls, which many of them, leading a mendicant-life, as darweeshes, are in the habit of always carrying with them]. (TA.)
