خير

3 خَاْيَرَ ↓ خَايَرَهُ فَخَارَهُ, (A, K,) inf. n. مُخَايَرَةٌ, (A,) He vied with him, or strove to surpass him, or contended with him for superiority, in goodness, or excellence, (A, K,) in, or with respect to, (فِى,) a thing, (A,) and he surpassed him therein. (A, K.)
