3 خَالَعَتْ بَعْلَهَا خالعت بعلها , (S,) or تَخْلِيعٌ, (Mgh, Msb,) inf. n. مُخَالَعَةٌ, (Msb,) (assumed tropical:) She incited, urged, or induced, her husband to divorce her for a gift, or a compensation, (بِبَذْلٍ, or بِبَدَلٍ, accord. to different copies of the S,) from her to him: (S, Mgh: *) or (assumed tropical:) she ransomed herself from him, and he divorced her for the ransom. (Msb.) ― -b2- خالع ا@مْرَأَتَهُ: see 1. ― -b3- خالعهُ (tropical:) He contended with him in a game of hazard: because he who does so takes away the property of his companion. (TA.)
