خفق

مَخْفَقٌ مخفق A place, (TA,) or a level land, (As, TA,) in which the سَرَاب [or mirage ] quivers. (As, TA.) [See also خِفْقَةٌ.] ― -b2- And [the pl.] مَخَافِقُ signifies The places of setting [of stars]: and is used as [a sing.,] meaning the place of setting of a star. (Ham p. 152.) [See also خَافِقٌ.]
