خفق

خِفْقَةٌ خفق خفقه خفقة , (K,) or, as in the Tekmileh, ↓ خَفْقَةٌ, (TA,) A thing with which one strikes, or beats, such as a thong, or strap, or a دِرَّة [q. v.]. (K, TA.) [See also مِخْفَقَةٌ.] -A2- And the former, (K,) or ↓ the latter, (JK,) A smooth desert in which is [ the kind of mirage termed ] اآل: (JK, K:) so says Lth. (TA.) [See also مَخْفَقٌ.]
