وفد

وَفَادَةٌ ذ , subst. from وَفَدَ عَلَيْهِ, (S,) A coming to a king, (A,) or governor, (S, A,) [or the like, ] as an ambassador, envoy, or messenger, [&c.: see 1]. (S, A.) ― -b2- لَهُ وِفَادَةٌ [a phrase of frequent occurrence in notices of companions of Mohammad, meaning, He had the honour of coming as an envoy to the Prophet ]. (TA, passim; and other works.)
