وعد

مَوْعُودٌ ذ and مَوْعُودَةٌ: see 1, and وَعْدٌ ― -b2- اليَوْمُ الموعود [ The promised day; meaning] the day of resurrection. (TA.) ― -b3- مَعْهُودٌ وَمَشْهُودٌ وَمَوْعُودٌ Past and present and future: the tenses of a verb. (Kh, in L, art. عهد.) ― -b4- مَوْعُودٌ is one of the inf. ns. which have pls. governing as verbs; its pl. being مَوَاعِيدُ. Ex. مَوَاعِيدَ عُرْقوب أَخَاهُ بِيَثْرِبَ [ As 'Orkoob's promisings of his brother in Yethrib. ] (IJ, ISd.) See عُرْقُوبٌ.
