وعث

2 وعّث ذ , inf. n. تَوْعِيثٌ, He withheld, or restrained, and turned, or diverted, [another from a thing]. (K.) وعّثهُ عَنْ كَذَا He turned him, or diverted him, from such a thing; as also عوّثهُ. (Az.)
