سمع

سَمَّاعٌ ذ One who hearkens, or listens, much to what is said, and utters it. (TA.) [Its primary signification is simply One who hears, hearkens, or listens, much, or habitually: and it signifies also quick of hearing. ] See also سَامِعٌ. ― -b2- A spy, who searches for information, and brings it.
