ركن

أَرْكُونٌ ذ A great دِهْقَان, (K, TA,) i. e. headman, or chief, of a village or town: [app. from the Greek ἄρχω ν ; though it is said that] he is thus called because the people of the village or town trust to him and incline to him. (TA.)
