8 اـِرْتَقَىَ see 1, first sentence, in three places. ― -b2- [Hence,] ارتقى بَطْنُهُ His belly became [ drawn up, i. e.] lean, or lank; syn. اِنْطَوَى: said of a camel, and of a sheep or goat. (JK.)
