Root entry · 1 derived lemma1 رَضَبَ رِيقَهَا ذ , (A, K,) aor. رَضُبَ , (A, TA,) inf. n. رَضْبٌ, (TA,) He sucked in, or gently sucked or drew in with his lips, her (a girl's, or young woman's, TA) saliva; (A, K, TA;) as also ↓ ترضّبِها, (A,) or رِيقَهَا ↓ ترضّب. (K.) ― -b2- And رَضَبَ المَطَرُ The rain poured vehemently, or abundantly and extensively; (K, TA;) as also ↓ ارضب, inf. n. اـِرْضَابٌ. (TA.) And رَضَبَتِ السَّمَاآءُ The sky poured incessantly with rain in large drops. (AA, TA.) ― -b3- رَضُبٌ is also used as a verb, [meaning an inf n. of رَضَبَ signifying It (dew) fell, or formed, in distinct particles upon the trees, ] from رُضَابٌ applied to dew. (TA.) -A2- رَضَبَتِ الشَّاةُ i. q. رَبَضَت, [q. v., app. formed from the latter by transposition,] (K,) but seldom used. (TA.)
