رجف

رَجْعَةٌ ذ i. q. زَلْزَلَةٌ (S, K) [meaning Commotion, agitation, or convulsion; or violent commotion &c.; and particularly an earthquake; or] a violent earthquake: and a vehement cry from heaven: (Jel in vii. 76:) or it signifies, in the Kur-án, any punishment that befalls a people. (Lth, O.)
