رَابِطَةٌ ذ [fem. of رَابِطٌ. ― -b2- Also] A tie, or connection, of any kind; syn. عُلْقَةٌ [q. v.] and وُصْلَةٌ. (TA.) [This meaning of رابطة is well known, though omitted in the S and K &c. ― -b3- Hence, (assumed tropical:) The copula in a proposition.]
