رب

مَرْبُوبٌ ذ : see رَبِيبٌ. ― -b2- Also A slave; a bondman; syn. مَمْلُوكٌ [lit. possessed, and now particularly applied to a male white slave ]. (M, K.) العِبَادُ مَرْبُوبُونَ لِلّٰهِ means [ Mankind (lit. the servants of God) are ] bondmen (مَمْلُوكُونَ) [ to God ].
