Root entry · 1 derived lemmaرِئَاآءٌ ذ an inf. n. of 3 [q. v.]. (M. [Said in the S to be a subst.]) ― -b2- [Hence,] قَوْمٌ رِئَاآءٌ A party, or company of men, facing one another. (S.) And in like manner, بُيُوتُهُمْ رِئَاآءٌ [ Their tents, or houses, are facing one another ]. (S.) And مَنَازِلُهُمْ رِئَاآءٌ Their places of alighting, or abode, are facing, or opposite, one to another. (T.) ― -b3- And دُورُ القَوْمِ مِنَّا رِئَاآؤٌ The houses of the people, or party, are as far as the eye reaches, where we see them, namely, the people. (M.) ― -b4- And هُمْ رِئَاآءُ أَلْفٍ They are as many as a thousand in the sight of the eye. (K, * TA.)
