قوض

هٰذَا بِذَا قَوْضًا بِقَوْضٍ ذ This is for that, as a substitute for a substitute. (K.) And هُمَا قَوْضَانِ [ They two are substitutes, each for the other ]: mentioned by Sgh: but Z says, هما قَيْضَانِ [q. v. in art. قيض]: (TA:) or both signify they are exchangers, each with the other. (JK.)
