قوب

قَائِبَةٌ ذ and قَاوِبَةٌ: see قُوبٌ; the former in eight places, and the latter in one place. قَائِبَةُ قُوبٍ means An empty egg: to such, in a trad., Mekkeh is likened when devoid of pilgrims. (O.)
